Welcome! My name is Tommy Tippetts and this is my website covering my attempt to row the Atlantic Ocean, setting out in January 2012.
Below is my blog where you will be able to keep up to date with all areas of my preparation, from sponsors to securing a boat and all my training to prepare for such a challenge.
Please also take some time to look at why I am doing this row, raising money and awareness for mental health in this country and any small donation you can make will go a long way to improving lives of many people around the UK. Please click below to sponsor me on my row in aid of Mind. I am hoping to raise £25,000 for the charity and any contribution you can make, small or big, would be gratefully received.

24 hour race delay
Quick note on the race start...
So all set to go this morning we were called into a fleet meeting at 0800 to heat the decision has been taken to delay the race by 24 hours due to high wands and big seas out off the island. Although initially pretty disappointed I have spent more time on the boat today and left feeling there wasn’t any more I could do until I was in the Ocean, so every cloud and all that.
Looking good for tomorrow, winds will drop and should be a great and fast start.
Keep watching www.TaliskerWhiskyAtlanticChallenge.comfor regular updates and my progress.
Thank you once again for all the messages of support over the last couple days, and please spread the word about the row as I have a lot of money to raise to reach my target!
Next update from the boat.
